Lately, I've been devoting all my stitching time to 'I Sigh Not for Beauty'. It is coming along nicely and I'm almost there. This was my progress as of Sunday. All the regular stitching is complete. Satin stitching in the sawtooth border and grass under the house and trees is all that is left to do.
I took a close up of this area to show a stitcher how I mark the center of my stitching with a Sulky metallic or Holoshimmer thread. It can't be pierced by a tapestry needle and it doesn't bleed etc. It slides out pretty easily at the end. It's a polyester/plastic type thread.
Since Sunday, I've filled in the ivory area on the sawtooth border and have started on the green beside it. I'm so excited to finish this sampler. I was doing very well on completing assignments when it was a SAL on Ellen Chester's newsletter and then,...we got Buddy. My very active Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Buddy turned 2 in December, just before Christmas. He has calmed down quite a bit but still has lots of play. Thankfully on Sunday he was quite content to lie on the other chair in the sun room soaking in the sun and napping while I had lots of good light to stitch on Beauty.
I saw this pattern on ABC Stitch Therapy and had to indulge. I'll be tweaking the colors on the dog to match our Buddy.
